PeerPocket – Personal Finance Management Application

How the work unfolded

PeerPocket was developed as part of a research-based project using the Design Thinking methodology.

The process included:

1. Empathize – Conducted surveys and interviews to identify users’ pain points in financial management (difficulty recording expenses, ineffective budgeting, lack of reminders).
2. Define – Created user personas, empathy maps, and user journey maps to better understand user needs.
3. Ideate – Brainstormed solutions, including quick expense recording, budget alerts, category tagging, and simplified dashboards.
4. Prototype – Designed low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, focusing on simplicity and accessibility.
5. Test – Conducted usability evaluation with UEQ (Usability Evaluation Questionnaire). Results showed strong attractiveness, clarity, and stimulation, though improvements were needed in efficiency and novelty.

The final prototype provided a structured, user-friendly application concept to support users in better financial management. PeerPocket was developed as a project for the Human-Computer Interaction course, where it received a perfect score.
